A former Respawn employee shared details about an unannounced project on her LinkedIn profile, revealing that the game had been in development for several years until its production was abruptly halted this week without any official explanation. Last year, renowned journalist Jeff Grubb noted that the title wasn't part of the mainline Titanfall series, clarifying it wasn’t Titanfall 3. To bring this experimental concept to life, Respawn assembled a specialized team, bringing together experts with expertise in crafting multiplayer shooters.
Interestingly, this isn't the first time Respawn has paused a project. The studio previously canceled Titanfall Legends, an arcade-style shooter that shut down last year. Known for its innovative combination of fast-paced action and mech combat, the Titanfall series debuted in 2014, quickly gaining traction for its unique blend of parkour mechanics and intense team battles.
At present, Respawn is concentrating its efforts on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the highly anticipated sequel to the original, along with a brand-new Star Wars strategy game developed alongside Bit Reactor.
