The New Denpa Men is returning to mobile.
This odd creature-collecting RPG was a beloved 3DS title, later arriving on Switch.
Now, it’s preparing to land on mobile once again—could a global release be imminent?
With Nintendo’s recent emphasis on mobile, it felt inevitable that some Switch-exclusive games would make their way to smartphones. But I never expected The New Denpa Men, with its quirky and surreal charm, to be one of them.
According to Gematsu, who track Japanese releases with meticulous detail, that’s precisely what’s happening: The New Denpa Men is set to launch on iOS and Android on March 10th. The original game was an early adopter of AR using the 3DS camera, and this new version is said to include similar functionality.
Some may recall The Denpa Men as one of the 3DS’s earliest releases—an AR-based RPG where you collected the radio-wave-dwelling Denpa Men from your surroundings and battled them in dungeon encounters.

The Denpa Men franchise may not rival Mario or Zelda in popularity, but it’s appeared on multiple Nintendo platforms over the years. This isn’t even the first time developer Genius Sonority has brought the game to mobile—they previously released the original version on smartphones before later re-releasing it on Switch.
So yes, we may soon be playing a remastered version of a mobile game that was later ported to the Switch. Not confusing at all. And while the original New Denpa Men was Japan-only—with the Switch version receiving a global release—we now have a real chance at a proper worldwide launch.
Speaking of Nintendo, did you know we’re still updating our list of the top 25 best Nintendo Switch RPGs? With the Switch Two on the horizon, could this handheld soon share space with mobile in our coverage? Stay tuned!
