Today at Sony's State of Play, Team Ninja finally pulled back the curtain on the highly anticipated Nioh 3. The action RPG sequel is slated for an early 2026 launch and introduces expansive open fields alongside dual combat styles - marking a bold evolution for the franchise.

Blending Tradition with Innovation

The debut trailer showcases a fresh protagonist destined to become the next Shogun, though his mysterious vendetta against yokai remains... well, mysterious for now. What we do know is players will wield both Samurai and Ninja fighting styles with unprecedented fluidity.

The Samurai approach maintains the series' signature weighty combat while introducing new mechanics. Arts Proficiency amplifies martial arts techniques, while Deflect offers that perfect parry moment we all chase. Meanwhile, Ninja combat brings lightning-fast movement, aerial attacks, and cunning techniques like Mist (leaving decoys) and Evade (dodging at the last breath).
