Tencent's Tarisland MMORPG Sets End Date

Another online world fades to black! Tencent Games has declared the end of service for its action MMORPG, Tarisland. It has been just one year since the game's official global debut. Tarisland first appeared in April 2023 and entered closed beta testing in China shortly after its reveal.

The game subsequently began early access in certain regions in June 2023, culminating in a worldwide launch in June 2024. Featuring a classic Western fantasy setting and team-oriented gameplay, it offered 5-player dungeons, 10-player raids, and epic boss battles.

When does Tarisland shut down?

Servers will close permanently on November 4, 2025, for both Android and iOS platforms. New user registrations and in-app purchases were halted starting September 4.

Players can still access their accounts and use existing in-game items until the official shutdown on November 4. After that date, the game will be removed from app stores and all services will cease permanently.

The exact shutdown time depends on your local time zone: November 3 at 7:00 PM GMT-5, November 4 at 00:00 GMT, or November 4 at 8:00 AM GMT+8. No offline version or refunds will be available after the closure. Complete information can be found through the official announcement.

It’s hardly surprising to see games with such brief life cycles in today's market. EOS announcements arrive almost weekly, and Tarisland's notice was no exception—just another short-lived MMO that exited the stage quickly.

Although Tarisland featured solid dungeon and raid mechanics, its seasonal structure didn't resonate with the majority of players. The decision to remove launch content after some time further alienated the community, and the premium currency system ultimately drove many players away.
