This year's Pokémon Sleep winter holiday event brings two adorable additions: Eevee in a Santa hat, and the debut of Pawmi and Alolan Vulpix! This guide details how to add these Pokémon to your collection.
Pawmi and Alolan Vulpix Debut in Pokémon Sleep
The Holiday Dream Shard Research event, running the week of December 23rd, marks the arrival of Pawmi and Alolan Vulpix. Increased encounter rates for both Pokémon, including their Shiny variants, will be active throughout the event.
Catching Pawmi
Pawmi appears from 3 PM on December 23rd on Greengrass Isle, Snowdrop Tundra, and Old Gold Power Plant. Its boosted appearance rate during the event increases your chances. Pawmi, Pawmo, and Pawmot are all Snoozing-type Pokémon. Snoozing sleep, a common and relatively easy sleep type to achieve, maximizes your encounter chances. Balanced sleep also offers a chance, though lower.
Catching Alolan Vulpix
Alolan Vulpix, also debuting at 3 PM on December 23rd, is rarer and only appears on Snowdrop Tundra. Alolan Vulpix and Alolan Ninetails are Slumbering-type Pokémon, requiring a deep, 8-hour sleep for optimal encounter rates. Balanced sleep also offers a smaller chance.
Best Island for the Event
To maximize your chances of catching both Pawmi and Alolan Vulpix, focus on Snowdrop Tundra during the event. However, note that Snowdrop Tundra has higher team requirements, so preparation is key.
Pokémon GO is available on iOS and Android.
