Portraying one of Game of Thrones' most iconic characters proved challenging for Milly Alcock initially. The Australian actress, known for her role as young Rhaenyra Targaryen in House of the Dragon, recently shared that a power figure suggested acting coaching after her second day on set.
"On my second day filming House of the Dragon, someone senior pulled me aside and said, 'We're getting you an acting coach,'" Alcock revealed during her appearance on The Tonight Show, describing the moment as mortifying.
The Critics Choice nominee humorously reflected on the experience: "It confirmed my secret belief that I'm terrible at acting. I thought, 'This was clearly a casting mistake!'"
Alcock - who will debut as Supergirl/Kara Zor-El in this year's Superman film and next year's Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow - originally starred as King Viserys I Targaryen's heir before transitioning to a guest role in Season 2. Emma D'Arcy portrays the character's adult version who eventually ascends the throne.
The prequel series debuted in August 2022, three years after Game of Thrones concluded. Its instant success secured a Season 2 renewal within days, followed by confirmation of Season 3 in June 2024. The show earned industry recognition including the Golden Globe for Best Drama Series.
While Season 3 production continues, HBO has yet to announce its premiere date.
