Warhorse Studios has just rolled out a major free update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II with version 1.2, packed with exciting new features. Two of the most notable additions are the native integration of mods via Steam Workshop and the introduction of a fresh barber shop system.
The integration with Steam Workshop streamlines the modding experience by allowing players to download and install mods directly within the game, bypassing the need for third-party platforms. However, this feature's effectiveness relies on mod creators sharing their creations on Steam Workshop. Currently, the selection is somewhat limited, featuring mods such as:
- Free Saving: This mod provides unlimited saves by automatically replenishing the "Saviour Schnapps" item whenever it's used or lost.
- Helmet of Henry VIII: Adds a unique horned helmet inspired by historical designs.
- Tourist: Disables NPC reactions to trespassing, giving players access to restricted story locations.
- Pebbles the Zebra: Transforms your horse into a zebra, complete with a striking visual effect.
Although the initial mod selection is modest, the vibrant modding community is poised to grow rapidly. With over a thousand mods already available on Nexus Mods, it's anticipated that many creators will soon share their work on Steam Workshop as well. While Steam Workshop might not match the scale of Nexus Mods, popular mods are expected to make their way there shortly.

Complementing the mod support, update 1.2 introduces a barber shop system in Rattay and Kuttenberg. Players can now visit these NPC barbers to customize their hairstyle or beard, with each visit temporarily enhancing the protagonist's Charisma stat.
The scope of update 1.2 extends far beyond these headline features, as detailed in the comprehensive changelog available on the game’s official website. Warhorse Studios has implemented over a thousand fixes and improvements touching nearly every aspect of the game. These enhancements range from balancing adjustments to refined animations and improved NPC behavior. The crime system, for instance, has been fine-tuned for enhanced accuracy.
Additional noteworthy updates include:
- Revised daily schedules for NPCs, making their routines more realistic.
- Enhanced horse riding mechanics and horse trading systems.
- Improved character visuals and overall performance, especially in Kuttenberg, the largest city in the game, and during large-scale battles.
Warhorse Studios plans to explore these changes in more detail during a developer livestream next Thursday. The studio remains dedicated to supporting Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, with three paid DLC expansions scheduled for release in spring, summer, and winter.
With the addition of Steam Workshop integration, new cosmetic options, and a wealth of gameplay refinements, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II continues to evolve, delivering an increasingly immersive medieval experience to its players.
