- Once Human is expanding its universe with a new spin-off: Once Human: RaidZone
- Engage in intense PvP survival battles while scavenging for resources and building defenses
- Experience a Rust-inspired take on the Once Human world, focused entirely on competitive survival
Although not universally acclaimed, NetEase’s Once Human has gained significant traction among mobile and PC players. In a swift follow-up, the developer is launching a dedicated PvP experience—Once Human: RaidZone—set to enter early access soon.
Once Human: RaidZone isn’t a complete reinvention but rather an evolution built directly on the foundation of the original game. Positioned as a “sub-brand,” it strips away the PvE and narrative elements to focus purely on player-versus-player combat in a harsh, survival-driven environment.
In this new mode, you’ll battle other players across a desolate open world inspired by classics like Rust. The core loop revolves around scavenging resources, constructing defensive bases, and arming yourself with increasingly powerful gear. Progression follows a familiar arc—from humble beginnings in a wooden shelter armed with basic weapons, to dominating the battlefield from fortified concrete bunkers equipped with high-tier assault rifles and explosives.
Once more with emphasis
While Once Human: RaidZone shows strong potential as a competitive survival arena, it does face notable challenges. Its greatest strength—its focused, PvP-centric design—also highlights its biggest risk: the loss of the original game’s distinctive supernatural atmosphere and immersive storytelling. Without these elements, RaidZone may struggle to stand out in an already crowded market of mobile survival shooters.
However, players will soon have the chance to judge for themselves. Once Human: RaidZone is scheduled to launch in early access on May 21st.
