Hogwarts Legacy Switch 1 Players Can Upgrade For $10 To Get Better Graphics And No Loading Screens on Switch 2

Author : Riley Update:May 15,2025

The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Hogwarts Legacy promises to enhance your wizarding experience with sharper visuals, faster loading times, and the introduction of innovative mouse controls. As showcased in a compelling comparison teaser trailer, the Switch 2 version allows for seamless transitions between areas like Hogsmeade, eliminating the loading screens that were present in the original game. This means you can explore the magical world without interruptions, enhancing your immersion.

But the improvements don't stop there. The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Hogwarts Legacy also enhances frame rates, textures, shadows, and color saturation, making the world of Hogwarts and its surroundings even more vibrant and lifelike. You can witness these enhancements firsthand in the trailer below:

The addition of mouse controls has piqued our curiosity. While developer Warner Bros. has yet to elaborate on this feature, it raises exciting possibilities, such as potentially using the mouse for more precise spell-casting.

For those who already own Hogwarts Legacy on the original Nintendo Switch, you'll have the option to upgrade to this enhanced version for just $10, similar to other upgrades from Switch 1 games.

Hogwarts Legacy is an immersive, action-packed, open-world role-playing game set in the wizarding world of the 1800s. As a fifth-year student, players will journey through both new and familiar locations, encounter magical beasts, craft potions, master spell-casting, upgrade talents, and customize their character to become the witch or wizard of their dreams. The game is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 on the same day as the console's release, June 5.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Hogwarts Legacy, awarding it a 9/10 in our IGN Hogwart's Legacy review, where we stated: "in almost every way, Hogwarts Legacy is the Harry Potter RPG [we've] always wanted to play."
