Amazon has unveiled Alexa+, an advanced version of its renowned voice assistant, now available in Early Access. Powered by generative AI, Alexa+ promises a more natural, conversational interaction, making it smarter and more personalized. According to Amazon, "Alexa+ is more conversational, smarter, personalized – and she helps you get things done." This upgrade aims to enhance user experience by facilitating a seamless flow of dialogue and assisting with a variety of tasks.
Currently, Alexa+ Early Access is exclusive to a limited range of Echo Show devices, including the Echo Show 8, 10, 15, and 21. If you own or plan to purchase one of these devices, you can be among the first to try out Alexa+. To stay updated on when Early Access will be available, sign up for notifications at the link below. With Alexa+, you can engage in more fluid conversations, asking questions as they arise and receiving immediate assistance. Whether it's managing your to-do list, retrieving specific calendar details, or making restaurant reservations, Alexa+ is designed to handle a broad spectrum of tasks efficiently. Amazon's Early Access page for Alexa+ highlights that "new features are being added regularly," suggesting that users can anticipate further enhancements post the Early Access period.
However, not all devices will support Alexa+ at this stage. Older Echo devices such as the Echo Dot 1st Gen, Echo 1st Gen, Echo Plus 1st Gen, Amazon Tap, Echo Show 1st Gen, Echo Show 2nd Gen, and Echo Spot 1st Gen will continue to operate with the original Alexa. Amazon has announced plans to extend Alexa+ compatibility to additional devices, including Fire TV, Fire tablets, and Alexa.com, in the near future.
