Although sea level rise is a global issue that affects everyone in low-lying coastal regions, our initiative began in Hampton Roads, Virginia. Through the efforts of thousands of volunteers during annual "Catch the King Tide" events, organized by Wetlands Watch, we have made significant strides in mapping and understanding this phenomenon. The Sea Level Rise app fosters a more informed and connected community, enabling us to stay ahead of the challenges posed by rising sea levels.

With the Sea Level Rise app, you can access user-submitted data on this global issue and participate as a volunteer in capturing street-level data. This information is crucial for researchers and civic leaders who need localized data to address the challenges brought by sea level rise. Here’s what you can do with the app:
