Wuthering Waves: Elemental Effects, Explained News - Latest Updates and Information

Wuthering Waves' Version 2.0 introduces significant changes to its elemental system, particularly with Elemental Effects. Previously, elements primarily offered character buffs or enemy resistances. Now, they allow for more direct interactions. This guide details these new Elemental Effects.

All Elemental Status Effects and Debuffs

While some elemental effects existed before Version 2.0 (primarily inflicted by enemies), Version 2.0 expands this mechanic significantly. Each element now has a unique status effect:

Elemental Effect	Effect Description
Havoc Bane	Stacks up to 2 times. At 2 stacks, all stacks are removed, dealing Havoc DMG and reapplying the effect to nearby characters. Stacks increase periodically.
Glacio Chafe (Frost Chafe)	Reduces movement speed, increasing in intensity with each stack (up to 10). At 10 stacks, the resonator is Frozen; players can "Struggle" to hasten recovery.
Spectro Frazzle	Stacks automatically decrease to deal Spectro DMG. More stacks = more DMG over time.
Fusion Burst	Stacks up to 10 (unless removed). Reaching 10 stacks triggers an explosion dealing significant Fusion DMG.
Aero Erosion	Deals Aero DMG periodically. Stacks do not decrease to deal damage; more stacks = more DMG over time.
Electro Flare	Reduces attack based on stack count: 1-4 stacks (-5%), 5-9 stacks (-7% and Magnetized effect), 10 stacks (-10%).

Dodging removes all stacks of these effects.

Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets

Currently, the utilization of Elemental Effects is limited. Only a few Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets interact with them:

Currently, only the reworked Spectro Rover (available after completing the Version 2.0 storyline) can apply Elemental Effects. Its Resonance Skill's Resonating Spin variant applies 2 stacks of Spectro Frazzle, and also applies the Shimmer effect, preventing stacks from naturally decreasing.

Echoes and Echo Sets

Only one Echo Set, Eternal Radiance, and its associated Echo, Nightmare, currently benefit from Elemental Effects (specifically Spectro Frazzle), primarily enhancing Spectro Rover's performance.

Eternal Radiance (Echo Set): 2-piece bonus: +10% Spectro DMG. 5-piece bonus: Inflicting Spectro Frazzle increases Crit. Rate by 20% for 15s. 10 stacks of Spectro Frazzle grant a 15% Spectro DMG Bonus for 15s.
Nightmare (Echo): Deals 273.60% Spectro DMG. DMG to enemies with Spectro Frazzle is increased by 100%. The equipped Resonator gains a 12% Spectro DMG Bonus.
