After just under a year on the market, *Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile* is being discontinued. Activision has announced that the mobile version of the popular battle royale game will no longer receive seasonal updates or new content, and has been removed from the App Store and Google Play as of May 18th. Real-money transactions have been disabled, and anyone who hasn't downloaded the app by the deadline will be unable to access it going forward.
This marks an abrupt end to a highly anticipated mobile game that was designed to deliver the complete Warzone experience to mobile-first gamers. Despite Activision's pride in how closely the mobile version mirrored the original Warzone, it appears the game didn't resonate as well with mobile users as it did with those on PC and consoles.
For those who already have the game installed, online access and matchmaking will continue post-May 19th, but social features will be turned off. There's no set date yet for when the servers might shut down completely. The in-game store will stay open for now, but only for those with existing COD Points; no new purchases are allowed.
As a small gesture, players with remaining COD Points can transfer them to *Call of Duty: Mobile*. This offer is valid until August 15th. By logging into *Call of Duty: Mobile* with the same Activision account, you'll receive double the value of your unused Warzone Mobile COD Points, plus additional perks.
For anyone who hasn't installed or reinstalled the game by May 19th, this is your final chance. After that date, no refunds will be issued, and the game will become inaccessible. It's a disappointing conclusion for what was promoted as a significant expansion of the Warzone franchise, serving as a stark reminder that even the most renowned series can struggle to maintain long-term success in the mobile market.
