Screenshot by The Escapist The Voodoo Doll is one of the more manageable Cursed Possessions in Phasmophobia, despite changes in its mechanics through game updates. It's particularly useful for coaxing stubborn or silent ghosts into revealing crucial evidence.
To use the Voodoo Doll, you need to insert pins into it, one at a time. Each pin triggers the ghost to perform actions related to evidence, such as generating EMF5 readings or leaving Ultraviolet prints. There are 10 pins in total, but using them comes with a risk: each pin insertion reduces your sanity by 5%. Inserting all pins can drain up to 50% of your sanity, significantly increasing the chances of a ghost hunt.
The most dangerous pin is the one located in the doll's heart. Inserting it is completely random, but if you hit it, your sanity drops by an additional 10%, and a Cursed Hunt is immediately triggered. During a Cursed Hunt, the ghost appears close to your location and hunts for 20 seconds longer than usual.
Despite these risks, the Voodoo Doll can be invaluable for gathering evidence, provided you're well-prepared and cautious.
What Are Cursed Objects (Possessions) in Phasmophobia?
Screenshot by The Escapist Cursed Possessions, often referred to as "Cursed Objects," are unique items in Phasmophobia that can randomly appear on any map, influenced by difficulty settings or Challenge Mode.
Unlike regular equipment, which helps locate the ghost and gather evidence with minimal risk, Cursed Objects provide shortcuts to manipulate the ghost's behavior but at a higher risk to your character. The safety of using these items varies, and it's up to you and your team to decide whether to utilize them. There's no penalty for not using them, and only one Cursed Possession spawns per contract, unless modified in Custom settings.
There are seven different Cursed Objects in Phasmophobia:
- Haunted Mirror
- Voodoo Doll
- Music Box
- Tarot Cards
- Ouija Board
- Monkey Paw
