Mutt's Location:
Mutt is situated near a wolf cave southwest of the Nomads' Camp, east of the river bathing spot. The image below pinpoints his exact location.
Fast travel to the Nomads' Camp for easiest access. Follow the path southwest into the forest; you'll likely reach the cave's summit. You'll hear Mutt's whimpers as you approach. He's in a clearing near the cave, surrounded by wolves.
A cutscene will initiate upon nearing Mutt, introducing combat commands for your canine companion. Choose to fight or flee the wolves. Fighting provides a skill-leveling opportunity.
After the wolf encounter, Mutt is yours to command. Hold L1 (while facing him) to interact, feeding him or sending him home.
Finding Mutt During "The Invaders" Quest:
Interestingly, you might discover Mutt's location while undertaking "The Invaders" quest. After drinking with the Cumans, following Vasko uphill for more liquor will lead you directly to the cave, triggering the cutscene. However, attempting this while intoxicated and in the dark is highly challenging.
It's strongly recommended to rescue Mutt before continuing "The Invaders" quest. Navigating drunk, dark conditions and wolves is significantly harder.
