World of Warcraft's Extended Timewalking Extravaganza: Seven Weeks of Turbulent Timeways
World of Warcraft players are in for a treat! The Turbulent Timeways event is back, and this time it's even bigger. Running for seven consecutive weeks until February 24th, this event offers a non-stop Timewalking experience across various expansions.
This extended event provides players with ample opportunities to earn a wealth of rewards. Expect to accumulate a significant number of Timewarped Badges, benefit from a substantial experience boost, and acquire exciting new items.
A Recap of the Event:
The initial Turbulent Timeways event, launched in September 2023, featured five weeks of Timewalking. Players could earn a stackable buff, "Mastery of Timeways," providing a 20% experience bonus after completing four Timewalking dungeons. Completing this for all five weeks rewarded the Master of the Turbulent Timeways achievement and the Sandy Shalewing pet.
This expanded iteration builds upon that success. Each week focuses on a different Timewalking expansion, starting with Mists of Pandaria (January 7th) and concluding with Cataclysm (February 18th). The stackable Mastery of Timeways buff returns, offering another chance to boost experience gains.
Event Schedule:
- January 7-13: Mists of Pandaria
- January 14-20: Warlords of Draenor
- January 21-27: Legion
- January 28-February 3: Classic
- February 4-10: The Burning Crusade
- February 11-17: Wrath of the Lich King
- February 18-24: Cataclysm
Rewards and Achievements:
Achieving Mastery of Timeways for five out of the seven weeks unlocks the "Mastery of the Turbulent Timeways 2" achievement, rewarding players with the coveted Timely Buzzbee mount. Timewalking vendors will offer new permanent items, including Season of Discovery transmogs at the Classic vendor. The Sandy Shalewing pet also returns for those who missed it previously. Completing the weekly Timewalking dungeon quest will yield Heroic gear during the event.
Looking Ahead:
With the recent conclusion of the 20th-anniversary event (featuring 11 weeks of Timewalking), players will have enjoyed a remarkable 18 consecutive weeks of Timewalking by the end of Turbulent Timeways. The event's February 24th conclusion date hints at Blizzard's plans. Given their typical release schedule, this strongly suggests that World of Warcraft Patch 11.1, Undermined, is likely to launch on February 25th. This sets the stage for a busy start to 2025 in Azeroth, with Undermined, the second run of Plunderstorm (January 14th – February 17th), and the first major content update for The War Within all on the horizon.
