Old Sims Games May Return to PC

The Sims franchise is marking its 25th anniversary with a bang, and while Electronic Arts has unveiled its celebratory plans, unanticipated announcements are still possible.

A recent Sims teaser subtly alluded to the first two installments, sparking fervent fan speculation about a potential revival. While official confirmation is pending, Kotaku sources hint at a possible announcement later this week: digital PC releases of The Sims 1 and 2, complete with their original expansion packs.

The possibility of console versions remains uncertain, along with their release dates. However, given the potential for capitalizing on nostalgic demand, a console release seems highly probable.

Access to The Sims 1 and 2 is severely limited today due to their age and the scarcity of legal distribution channels. A re-release would undoubtedly be a welcome event for countless longtime fans.
