Celebrate 25 Years of The Sims with Legacy Collections! EA and Maxis are marking The Sims' 25th anniversary by bringing back The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 to PC! Both titles are now available individually or together in The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle ($40).
The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection offer nearly complete packages, including all expansion packs. The Sims 2 collection is missing only the IKEA Home Stuff pack. Bonus content sweetens the deal, with The Sims 1 receiving a Throwback Fit Kit and The Sims 2 a Grunge Revival Kit.
This marks a significant return for these classic titles. The Sims 1, originally a disc-only release, has been unavailable digitally for years. While The Sims 2 was briefly available via an Ultimate Collection, it was later removed. Now, all four main Sims games are readily accessible digitally.
These original Sims games, previously reviewed with scores of 9.5/10 and 8.5/10 respectively, remain captivating. Their charm lies in their quirky gameplay, relative simplicity, challenging aspects, and historical significance.
