ASCISPACE – Guerra Subatômica is now officially available on Android. Created by an independent Brazilian game studio, it delivers classic bullet-hell gameplay in an accessible package. Read on for the full scoop about this fresh release.
What’s new in this one?
ASCISPACE – Guerra Subatômica is an arcade-style game crafted with procedural generation and custom code. "Guerra Subatômica" is Portuguese for "Subatomic War."
The developer, MGappsCap, calls the project a love letter to a more creatively daring era. It’s a handcrafted, mind-bending shooter. Each time you uncover one of the scattered memory fragments, the secrets of the cosmos become a bit clearer.
The game features procedurally-generated ASCII visuals. This means all graphics are rendered using ASCII characters—letters, numbers, and symbols—in place of conventional imagery.
Every component—ships, explosions, environmental details—is assembled line by line entirely from ASCII characters. This gives the game its retro, text-based art style—a true throwback to the arcade era.
How does it all start in ASCISPACE – Guerra Subatômica?
You awaken in a strange miniature universe where your sole goal is to shoot your way to freedom. Endless enemy waves will attack, and you must battle back by collecting gadgets and upgrading your ship.
A unique black hole feature alters the game’s rhythm by slowing time. You can even generate mini black holes to ensnare foes and banish them to another dimension.
NeutroBombs offer another powerful option, clearing the screen when you’re completely overrun. The latest update also introduces an electric weapon that can stun enemy projectiles, alongside new musical tracks.
Download ASCISPACE – Guerra Subatômica on the Google Play Store. It’s free to play and includes optional in-game purchases.
