Survival of the Fittest is one of the toughest challenges in *Phasmophobia* due to the severe limitations it imposes on players. You must correctly identify the ghost without traditional evidence or the safety of sanity at **42 Edgefield Road**. This location's narrow hallways and claustrophobic layout make ghost tracking and evasion particularly challenging.
Tips & Tricks To Complete Survival of the Fittest in Phasmophobia
Upon arriving at 42 Edgefield Road, you'll face several unique conditions. Traditional evidence-gathering tools like Ghost Writing Books and DOTs Projectors are unavailable, and even Video Cameras are off-limits. Instead, focus on the ghost's unique behaviors, movement speed, and ghost model to identify it.
Use the Parabolic Microphone to detect specific ghost sounds, such as a Banshee's scream or a Myling's frequent noises. Place Salt on the floor to check for Wraith activity, and light three Firelights in succession to potentially reveal an Onyro. You'll start with virtually no setup time and zero sanity, making you an immediate target for ghost hunts. Sanity cannot be restored, even with the two Sanity Medications provided. Expect high ghost activity and frequent events, which can help you discern ghost behaviors despite the danger. Remember, the ghost's favorite room remains constant, and the fuse box will be functional and on from the start.
Most doors will be partially open, complicating ghost location detection. However, all nine hiding spots at 42 Edgefield Road are available for safety during hunts.
You'll have access to the Monkey Paw as your only Cursed Possession. Using it to "wish for knowledge" can burn out incorrect evidences and ghost types in your Journal, narrowing down your options. However, this comes at a high cost: temporary blindness and deafness, followed by a Cursed Hunt near you. This strategy is best used in groups, where one player can act as a sacrifice.
How to Access Challenge Mode in Phasmophobia
To access Challenge Mode, navigate to the Difficulty Settings in the Main Menu. Choose either Singleplayer or Multiplayer to start a new lobby, then select the Difficulty tab above your character ID. Scroll to find Challenge Mode, and select 'Apply' to set it for your next investigation. Remember to manually select 42 Edgefield Road from the Maps board. To earn the full $5,000 reward, complete the challenge three times, correctly identifying the ghost each time.
When Does The Next Weekly Challenge Start in Phasmophobia?
The Weekly Challenge resets on Monday at Midnight UTC, but North American players can start the new challenge on Sunday evening at:
- 5:00 pm Pacific Time
- 6:00 pm Mountain Time
- 7:00 pm Central Time
- 8:00 pm Eastern Time
Ensure you complete your current challenge before the server reset to receive credit.
