Paldea Pokémon Arrive in Pokémon GO

Niantic has announced the Pokémon GO Fashion Week: Taken Over event, bringing Shroodle and its evolution, Grafaiai, to the game for the first time. Beginning January 15th, this event offers more than just these new additions; players can expect exciting bonuses and raid encounters.

Shroodle and Grafaiai, originally introduced in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, are Poison/Normal and Normal types respectively. Shroodle, with its large head and expressive eyes, evolves into the lemur-like Grafaiai at level 28. Beyond their appearances in the Gen IX games, these Pokémon have also made cameo appearances in Pokémon Horizons.

The Fashion Week: Taken Over event runs from January 15th, 12:00 AM to January 19th, 8:00 PM local time. During this period, Shroodle will hatch from 12km Eggs, and evolve into Grafaiai using 50 Shroodle Candy. Team GO Rocket will be more prevalent in balloons and at PokéStops, offering increased opportunities to help Shadow Pokémon forget the Frustration Charged Attack using Charged TMs. Taking a snapshot during the event might even surprise you with a fashionable Croagunk encounter.

A new Special Research quest allows players to rescue Shadow Palkia. Six new Shadow Pokémon, including Unova starters, will appear. Seven Pokémon feature in Shadow Raids, with Nidoran (male and female) making their debut. Remote Raid Passes are usable in these raids for the first time. New Field Research tasks offer Mysterious Components, Charged TMs, and Fast TMs. Event-themed Showcases and Collection Challenges are also available, alongside new offers in the web store and a 300-coin bundle in the in-game shop.

Looking ahead, the Corviknight evolutionary line arrives in Pokémon GO on January 21st, a Shadow Raid Day is planned, and a Classic Community Day featuring Ralts is scheduled for January 25th.
