Attention all Death Stranding fans! Exciting news is on the horizon as the highly anticipated sequel, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, is scheduled to launch in June. In a recent interview with IGN, the franchise's star, actor Norman Reedus, shared some intriguing details about the upcoming game and even hinted at the future film adaptation.
When asked about potentially playing himself in the film version of the game, which is being developed by Michael Sarnoski and A24, Reedus responded with enthusiasm, stating, "If it was an option, yeah, for sure. I don’t know what’s happening with it. It’s so pre pre pre right now. But yeah, of course." This suggests that while the film is still in its very early stages, Reedus is open to the idea of reprising his role in a cinematic format.
Reedus also addressed his understanding of the first game and his feelings about the sequel. He expressed a deep trust in the game's creator, Hideo Kojima, saying, "As far as working with him and understanding where his head’s at, I don’t think anybody can understand where his head’s at. He’s just that guy, he’s out there and he’s got great ideas." Despite the complexity of Kojima's vision, Reedus noted that he had a better grasp of the story this time around, and that the sequel promises more action and a clearer narrative goal.
No matter the intricacies of the Death Stranding universe, Reedus remains enthusiastic about his involvement. "It’s always a trip working on those things," he shared with IGN. "It’s great, but it’s wild."
Mark your calendars—Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is set to release on June 26, 2025. Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the launch date.
