*Suits* has been a beloved series since its debut on USA in 2011, captivating audiences for nearly 15 years. Its popularity surged again with its availability on Netflix, leading to numerous binge-watching marathons. However, despite this renewed interest, the spin-off series *Suits LA* couldn't maintain the same momentum and was canceled after its debut season, as announced with NBC's fall schedule. Jeff Bader, the brand's president of program planning strategy, shed light on the decision to end the show.
"It's incredibly challenging to decide which shows to renew, and although *Suits LA* had a brief run, it simply didn't resonate with viewers as we had hoped," Bader explained to Variety after the fall schedule was released. "There are numerous factors contributing to its lack of resonance, but ultimately, it showed no potential for future growth."

Bader elaborated on the decision-making process: "We had to assess the performance of our shows across both linear and digital platforms. We looked at which ones had the potential to grow in the future, analyzing their stability in terms of linear performance and digital engagement, as well as which were on the rise and which were declining. Unfortunately, tough choices had to be made."
He also mentioned that NBCUniversal considers moving canceled network shows to Peacock, but *Suits LA* did not make the cut for such a transfer.
Regarding the shows that were spared from cancellation, Bader highlighted what made them stand out: "We analyzed their performance week-to-week and episode-to-episode across both linear and digital platforms to determine which had the strongest ratings trajectory. On the creative side, our teams evaluated which shows had the greatest potential to attract new audiences. These criteria led us to retain the top-performing shows."
*Suits* originally aired for nine seasons from 2011 to 2019. The revival series *Suits LA* premiered in February, featuring stars like Stephen Amell, Lex Scott Davis, Josh McDermitt, and Bryan Greenberg. Notably, original *Suits* cast members such as Rick Hoffman, David Costabile, and lead actor Gabriel Macht made guest appearances. The spin-off was created and executive produced by *Suits* creator Aaron Korsh, with its final episode airing on May 11, 2025.
