The much-anticipated game, Morikomori Life, has now been officially released on Android and iOS platforms, but exclusively in Japan. This time, it's being published by Realfun Studio. Initially, the game saw a release in China by Level Infinite under Tencent Games, though it was later discontinued approximately a year ago.
The Rural Farm Life Sim Is Back
One of the standout features of Morikomori Life is its stunning visuals. The developers have masterfully captured the essence of a cozy rural life through anime-inspired art, specifically drawing from the renowned Studio Ghibli style. This isn't just any AI-generated art; the scenes genuinely feel as though they've been lifted straight from a Ghibli animated film.
The game's narrative centers around Kaon, a young Japanese girl who receives a mysterious letter from her grandmother, urging her to visit the village. This prompts Kaon to return to Komori, the place of her childhood memories. As you play, you'll rediscover the joys of a serene rural life. The 3D toon shading used in Komori beautifully enhances the warmth of the Japanese countryside, making it feel almost as real as the actual landscape.
I assure you, I'm not exaggerating. To see for yourself, check out these Morikomori Life trailers:
Morikomori Life Lets You Experience Slow-Paced Living
Morikomori Life focuses on the joys of a slow-paced, slice-of-life experience. You'll engage in activities such as farming, cooking, fishing, hunting, and even constructing your own home. Gather resources by chopping wood, mining ore, and exploring to find rare materials.
As you accumulate these resources, you'll unlock opportunities to enhance your home and expand your lifestyle. Customize Kaon's appearance to match your personal style, make new friends in the village, prepare meals from foraged ingredients, and assist villagers with various tasks.
The game also offers an open-world element, allowing you the freedom to roam and discover delightful surprises. Currently, Morikomori Life is available on Android in Japan. If you're in the region, you can find it on the Google Play Store. There's no confirmation yet on a global release.
