The release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was officially revealed during Sony's State of Play 2025 presentation, confirming the previously leaked August 28, 2025 launch. A new trailer debuted alongside the announcement.
The PlayStation Store leak last week, which prematurely unveiled both the date and trailer, proved accurate.
An intriguing Ape Escape collaboration was also hinted at, with a concluding "And More" suggesting additional crossovers are planned for the game. This first crossover appears to be a nod to the original Metal Gear Solid 3's monkey minigame, where Snake used stun grenades and his unique "Monkey Shaker" weapon.
While boasting a new first-person viewpoint, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remains remarkably faithful to its predecessor. IGN's preview described it as a "very shiny HD remaster," praising its visual fidelity but noting its almost overly faithful recreation of the original. It's a visually stunning experience, but perhaps a bit too close to the source material for some.
