No Man's Sky: A Guide to Finding, Farming, and Crafting Solanium
Solanium, a crucial resource in No Man's Sky, is exclusive to planets with specific climates. This guide covers acquisition methods, from direct gathering to farming and crafting.
Finding Solanium
Solanium is found on hot, arid planets, similar to Frost Crystals' location on icy planets. Before landing, use your starship scanner to identify planets with climates like "Arid," "Incandescent," "Boiling," or "Scorched." The scanner will also indicate Solanium as a resource.
Once landed, deploy your Analysis Visor to locate Solar Vines – tall, glowing rock-like plants. These are plentiful and require a Haz-Mat Gauntlet for harvesting. While on these planets, consider collecting Phosphorus, a key ingredient in Solanium crafting.
Farming Solanium
After progressing the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission, you can cultivate Solar Vines. Use a Hydroponic Tray or Bio-Dome, planting them with 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus. Hot planets allow direct ground planting. Harvesting takes approximately 16 real-time hours.
Crafting Solanium
Several Refiner recipes produce Solanium, most needing Phosphorus (obtained from hot planets or Galactic Trade Terminals). Here's a summary of the crafting recipes:
- Solanium + Phosphorus (duplicates Solanium)
- Phosphorus + Oxygen
- Phosphorus + Sulphurine
- Di-hydrogen + Sulphurine
Note that all recipes, including those using Sulphurine, necessitate a visit to a hot planet. Establishing a Phosphorus farm at your base ensures a consistent Sulphurine supply.
