Layoffs Hit Rocksteady Amidst

Rocksteady Studios, the creator of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, announced further layoffs in late 2024, impacting programmers, artists, and testers. This follows September's layoffs, which halved the testing team's size.

The studio faced significant hurdles in 2024, struggling to maintain Suicide Squad despite its poor reception. Warner Bros. reported project losses of approximately $200 million. Consequently, no further updates are planned for 2025, though servers will remain active.

These cuts weren't limited to Rocksteady; Games Montreal, another Warner Bros. studio, also laid off 99 employees in December.

The game's early access launch exacerbated the situation. Players encountered numerous bugs, including server outages and a major story spoiler. Negative gameplay reviews and widespread criticism led to a massive 791% surge in refund requests, according to McLuck analytics.

Rocksteady's future projects remain unannounced.
