Set five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet's ecology has largely proven inhospitable to dinosaurs, confining them to isolated equatorial regions that mimic their ancient habitats. Within these environments, three colossal creatures—ruling land, sea, and air—possess DNA that holds the key to a revolutionary drug with life-saving potential for humanity.
Academy Award nominee Scarlett Johansson stars as Zora Bennett, a skilled covert operations expert tasked with leading a team to secure this vital genetic material. However, their mission takes an unexpected turn when they encounter a civilian family whose boat was capsized by aggressive aquatic dinosaurs. Stranded on a forbidden island that once housed a secret Jurassic Park research facility, they confront a diverse array of dinosaurs and uncover a sinister secret that has been concealed for decades.
The final trailer highlights several exciting scenes, including a river raft sequence inspired by Michael Crichton's original Jurassic Park novel. David Koepp, in a January interview, mentioned revisiting Crichton's novels to craft the sequel, as there is no specific source material for this installment. He incorporated elements from the novels, including a previously unused sequence from the first book. "There was a sequence from the first novel that we’d always wanted in the original movie, but didn’t have room for," Koepp explained. "We were like, ‘Hey, we get to use that now.’"
The trailer also introduces new dinosaurs, such as the 'D-Rex,' officially known as Distortus Rex. This mutant dinosaur, a blend of T-Rex and Star Wars' Rancor, was described by director Gareth Edwards as "kind of like if the T-Rex was designed by H.R. Giger, and then that whole thing had sex with a Rancor."
Additionally, viewers get a glimpse of winged Mutadons, a hybrid of pterosaurs and raptors, as mentioned by Koepp. These creatures add to the film's diverse and terrifying dinosaur lineup.
