Playing cricket in a tight alley can be more exhilarating than on a traditional field, especially in India. Recently, an indie Indian studio named 5th Ocean Studios released their latest cricket game, Gully Gangs: Street Cricket, in Open Beta on Android.
A Unique Take on Cricket Gaming
Unlike conventional cricket simulations, Gully Gangs: Street Cricket brings a fresh twist by focusing on 4v4 multiplayer matches set in the bustling confines of Indian gullies—narrow, chaotic alleys. As the first-ever 4v4 street cricket game, it introduces elements like rooftop catches, obstructing scooters, and grumpy uncles warning you against breaking windows. For solo players, a 1v1 mode is also available.
In this vibrant world, you can execute powerful moves and communicate with teammates via voice chat. Trash-talking, emoji-dropping, and even sneaky tactics are all part of the fun. The game immerses you in authentic Indian neighborhood settings where life goes on around you—broken stumps, improvised pitches, and unpredictable bounces off uneven walls.
Customization is a highlight, allowing you to create and outfit your gang with stylish outfits while unlocking various skins.
Open Beta and Future Updates
Currently available on Android, Gully Gangs: Street Cricket is expected to launch on iOS and Steam soon. Features like full controller support and cross-platform play are in development. The studio plans additional updates such as new street maps, trendy outfits, regular events, clan wars, and an esports mode. Leaderboards, daily and weekly challenges, and competitive gang battles will keep players engaged.
