Gotham Knights on Nintendo Switch 2? A game developer's resume suggests Gotham Knights could be a third-party title launching on the Nintendo Switch 2. Let's dive into the details!

Gotham Knights: Switch 2 Bound?

A Resume Reveals Potential

Gotham Knights on Nintendo Switch 2?On January 5th, 2025, YouTuber Doctre81 reported that Gotham Knights may be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. This claim stems from a game developer's resume, showcasing past work on the title. The developer, employed by QLOC from 2018 to 2023, listed various games including Mortal Kombat 11 and Tales of Vesperia. Crucially, the resume mentions Gotham Knights as developed for two yet-to-be-released platforms.

One platform is likely the original Nintendo Switch, given a prior ESRB rating. However, performance issues on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S might hinder a port. The second unreleased platform strongly hints at the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.

No official announcements have been made by Warner Bros. Games or Nintendo, so treat this as speculation. But with the Nintendo Switch 2 being the only highly anticipated unreleased console, the possibility is intriguing.

A Past Nintendo Switch Rating?

Gotham Knights on Nintendo Switch 2?Initially released in October 2022 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X, Gotham Knights reportedly received an ESRB rating for the original Nintendo Switch, fueling speculation of a release and potential Nintendo Direct appearance. However, this rating was later removed from the ESRB website, and the game never materialized on the original Switch. This past rating, coupled with the recent YouTube report, adds fuel to the Switch 2 release theory.

Nintendo Switch 2: Backwards Compatibility and the Official Reveal

Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa tweeted on May 7th, 2024, promising further details on the Switch's successor "within this fiscal year" (ending March 2025). A subsequent tweet confirmed backwards compatibility with the original Switch, including access to "Nintendo Switch software" and "Nintendo Switch Online." Whether physical cartridges will be supported remains unconfirmed.
