Understanding Morale in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Morale significantly impacts your army's effectiveness in large-scale battles. High morale means your officers and troops perform better, even without your direct intervention. They'll be more successful in defeating enemy officers and capturing bases independently. Conversely, low morale weakens your forces, making enemy officers stronger and increasing the likelihood of base losses and commander defeats.
Boosting Morale
Several actions influence morale. Some are predetermined within specific battles (e.g., ambushes), while others depend on your battlefield performance. Actions that typically increase morale include:
- Defeating enemy commanders
- Capturing bases
- Achieving high kill counts (e.g., 100 soldiers)
- Winning duels
Conversely, these actions lower morale:
- Losing bases
- Commander deaths
- Losing duels
- Failing to counter enemy ambushes or Grand Tactics
Reversing Low Morale
Low morale doesn't mean defeat. Actively supporting struggling allies is key. Use the minimap to locate allies in need and provide assistance. This often results in a morale boost for both you and your aided allies. Prioritize assisting allies before they're defeated to maintain overall army morale.
