Fortnite players eagerly awaited the arrival of Cyberpunk 2077 content, a highly anticipated crossover given Fortnite's history of collaborations. The release generated excitement, but the absence of the male version of protagonist V left some fans disappointed. Speculation ran rampant, analyzing CD Projekt Red's marketing strategies. Patrick Mills, Cyberpunk 2077 lore specialist and decision-maker for the Fortnite collaboration, clarified the situation. The bundle was designed for only two characters, one of which had to be Johnny Silverhand. This left no space for both male and female versions of V. Opting for the female V was a logical choice given Johnny's gender, and a personal preference of Mills.
