Battlefield 6 is targeting an October launch with an $80 base price point.
Reliable leaker Billbil-kun from Dealabs reports that rumors pointing to an October 10, 2025 release date are accurate. The game will launch simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, featuring both a Standard Edition at $79.99 and a premium Phantom Edition priced at $109.99 - though PC players reportedly get a $10 discount.
With pre-orders expected to begin on July 31, sources indicate there will be no early access period regardless of edition purchased - a departure from current industry norms. Players can upgrade from Standard to Phantom Edition at any time for $29.99.
The Battlefield development team has officially confirmed an open beta is coming. In a social media post, the official account polled players about weapon restrictions before teasing: "Why choose?" The statement continued: "Starting with Open Beta, players can select official playlists with either class-locked Signature Weapons or unrestricted loadouts. More details soon."
EA is set to fully unveil Battlefield 6 today, July 24, with a premiere trailer at 8am PT. Ahead of the reveal, a campaign teaser surfaced online showcasing the game's near-future conflict scenario. The narrative follows NATO under siege - with attacks on a Georgian base, invasion of British Gibraltar, and the assassination of NATO's secretary general in Brussels by an organization called Pax Armata.
The road to Battlefield 6 has been lengthy since its initial confirmation in 2021 following Battlefield 2042. While we've seen early concept art and confirmation of a modern setting, most information has emerged through NDA breaches and enthusiastic participants in closed Battlefield Labs testing.
These playtests have indeed been porous, with developer DICE gathering "significant feedback from engaged testers." Unlike Battlefield 2042's tepid reception, early impressions seem overwhelmingly positive - so much so that EA initially allowed leaks to circulate. Among revealed features are a new drag mechanic, vehicle mounting capabilities, enhanced movement systems, 3D mapping, improved destruction physics, various quality-of-life improvements, and glimpses of battle royale gameplay.
