The card game MauMau, a beloved variant of Crazy Eights, enjoys widespread popularity in Germany. Played with a standard 32-card deck, each player is initially dealt 5 or 6 cards. The objective is simple yet thrilling: the first player to discard all their cards emerges victorious. The game unfolds with players taking turns, each required to match the suit or value of the card previously played.

MauMau introduces an exciting twist with certain cards possessing special functions. For instance, a seven compels the next player to draw two additional cards, adding a strategic layer to the gameplay. An eight forces the following player to skip their turn, potentially disrupting their plans. Perhaps the most versatile card is the jack, which can be played on any card, allowing the player to choose the suit for the next play. This dynamic element keeps the game engaging and unpredictable, making MauMau a favorite among card game enthusiasts in Germany.
