Vampire Hunters in Bloodlines 2: What to Expect

The latest development update from The Chinese Room sheds exciting new light on Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2, particularly focusing on the vampire hunters. This formidable faction, known as the Information Awareness Bureau (IAB), operates covertly on a shadow budget, despite the absence of official government support. The IAB agents, who hunt vampires they refer to as "Hollow Ones," cleverly disguise their operations as "training exercises" and "counter-terrorism efforts."

Leading the charge in Seattle is Agent Baker, a disciplined and pragmatic leader known as "The Hen" among her loyal followers. Her mission is to permanently eliminate vampires. With meticulous attention to detail, Agent Baker investigates unusual occurrences and delves into historical data to uncover connections to the hidden vampire society. Her unwavering command and dedication to her cause make her a formidable adversary.

The hunters are a well-coordinated unit, securing their base with both external and internal defenses. Facing them alone is daunting, as they work in teams, employ spotlights, and maintain constant communication via portable radios. In combat, they wield thermic batons that ignore defensive tactics and use phosphorous grenades to flush enemies out of hiding. Their sniper crossbows are particularly deadly, firing explosive bolts that can cause catastrophic damage if not quickly removed.

Despite their strengths, these hunters have vulnerabilities. They are physically weaker than both ghouls and vampires, making them susceptible to certain counter-strategies. For instance, players can utilize the unique skill of Fire to intercept grenades or bolts and send them back at the hunters. Additionally, members of the Ventru clan can employ their powers to possess an enemy, turning them against their own team.

Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 is set to launch in the first half of 2025, available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Players eager to dive into this dark and thrilling world won't have to wait much longer to experience the intense battle between vampires and the relentless hunters of the IAB.
