Torchlight: Infinite's next chapter, Season 8: Sandlord, is set to launch on April 17th, promising a significant transformation for fans of the ARPG. This season introduces the intriguing Cloud Oasis, where players can engage in economic gameplay mechanics. Instead of just battling through hordes of monsters, you'll have the opportunity to build and manage your own empire in the skies. The Sandlord mechanic lets you trade resources, assign workers, and oversee production lines to create a formidable aerial stronghold.
Thea makes a return with a fresh twist in her gameplay. Her new Blasphemer trait swaps her divine powers for a curse named Desecration. This curse begins modestly but scales powerfully, amplifying Erosion damage inversely to her remaining blessing power. Players can further enhance this into area-of-effect explosions or health-scaling effects, making it ideal for those who enjoy damage-over-time and synergy-rich builds.
Endgame content in Torchlight: Infinite is also receiving a major overhaul. Deep Space has been completely revamped, featuring five new stages, expanded maps, and more challenging enemies. A new system called Probes allows players to adjust the level of risk and reward, with each Probe increasing the difficulty but also the potential for better loot, including Compass chests through the Compass Probe.
The update brings a Blending System for belt crafting, enabling the fusion of Hero Traits, Talent nodes, and unique affixes into a single item slot, offering deeper build customization. Additionally, a new boss, Night Slayer – The Wilting Plume, has been added to the Plane Watcher and the 20th floor of Supreme Showdown.
To celebrate the launch, the Sands of Fortune anniversary event will run from April 17th to May 1st. Players can complete tasks, earn Gold Rush Attempts, and compete for a share of a $250,000 prize pool.
