DC Studios has unveiled an exciting new trailer for the much-anticipated Superman film, directed by James Gunn, set to hit theaters on July 11, 2025. This three-minute glimpse into the movie showcases a rich ensemble of superheroes and supervillains, providing fans with deeper insights into their roles.
The trailer highlights Nathan Fillion's portrayal of Guy Gardner, aka Green Lantern, effortlessly dispatching foes. We also get a thrilling look at Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl and María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer. A standout moment reveals The Engineer destroying robots in the Fortress of Solitude, including the beloved Kelex, a scene that was teased in a previous trailer where Superman was seen mourning the robot.
Adding to the action, Krypto the Superdog is shown heroically engaging The Engineer with a flying punch, proving that even Superman's canine companion is ready for battle. The trailer doesn't shy away from showcasing the darker side of the DC universe either, featuring Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor and the menacing Ultraman in action. Fans also get more screen time with Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific and Anthony Carrigan as Rex Mason, also known as Metamorpho.
A new character, the Hammer of Boravia, believed to be Ultraman in disguise and introduced in a recent teaser, makes a significant appearance in the trailer, attacking Downtown Metropolis in response to Superman's controversial intervention in a foreign war.
The film also delves into the personal life of Clark Kent, portrayed through his relationship with Lois Lane. A pivotal scene shows Lois interviewing Superman, which escalates into a heated debate about the ethics of his actions overseas. Superman defends himself, asserting, "I wasn’t representing anyone except for me... and doing good!" This tension is further highlighted by contrasting scenes of public reactions, from a citizen helping Superman out of a hole to others openly confronting him with hostility.
