Starfield PS5 Release Rumors Surge After PlayStation Logo Spotted in Development

Speculation that Starfield will soon be confirmed for release on PlayStation 5 has intensified following a recent sighting of a PlayStation logo on Bethesda's official Creations website. The logo was linked to a work-in-progress ship decals Creation for Starfield, and despite its removal, fans are buzzing with anticipation that Bethesda's sci-fi title, previously exclusive to PC and Xbox, may soon be available on PS5.

This development has sparked discussions about potential new content updates or expansions coinciding with a PS5 launch. Starfield has been relatively quiet since the launch of the poorly received Shattered Space expansion, but Bethesda has promised "exciting things" for the game this year. In June 2024, Bethesda reaffirmed its commitment to Starfield, announcing plans for at least one more story expansion following Shattered Space. In an interview with the YouTube channel MrMattyPlays, Bethesda Game Studios' Todd Howard expressed the goal of releasing an annual story expansion for "hopefully a very long time."

In January, Microsoft's gaming chief Phil Spencer hinted at the possibility of Starfield coming to PS5. Reports from March 2024 suggested both Starfield and MachineGames' Indiana Jones and the Great Circle were being considered for PS5. While Indiana Jones was confirmed for a PS5 release in spring 2025, Starfield remains unconfirmed, though Spencer's comments have fueled speculation.

Bethesda Game Studios, with its 450-person team, is currently juggling multiple projects, including Starfield, Elder Scrolls 6, Fallout 76, mobile games, and external development partnerships.
