Donkey Kong Bananza has only been available for a week, yet one exceptionally dedicated player has already finished the game without collecting a single banana.
Announcing this feat on X/Twitter, AKfamilyhome stated: "Just completed Donkey Kong Bananza with zero bananas. Surprisingly enjoyable challenge—recommend trying it as a New Game+ run after 100% completion."
What sets AKfamilyhome apart from typical achievement hunters and speedrunners is their refusal to exploit glitches or shortcuts. Instead, they meticulously avoided bananas, forfeiting permanent health upgrades and DK’s skill-based enhancements.
"I skipped Zebra Bananza and lacked the ostrich glide ability, but creative movement techniques helped bypass tougher sections," they explained. "Early stages are manageable, mid-game demands clever workarounds, and the finale becomes brutally punishing with one-hit deaths."
"No special dialogue unlocks for skipping bananas entirely, but there is exclusive content if you never collect any Bananzas," they hinted.

Honestly a fun challenge I recommended doing as a NG+ run after 100% pic.twitter.com/ZM1S82gkb4
