Rumor: Genshin Impact Leaks Popular Character\

Genshin Impact's Wriothesley Rumored for Version 5.4 Rerun After Year-Long Wait

A leak suggests Wriothesley, the Cryo Catalyst introduced in Genshin Impact Version 4.1, will finally get a rerun in Version 5.4, ending a wait of over a year. This highlights the ongoing challenge Genshin Impact faces in balancing its extensive roster of over 90 playable characters with the limited rerun slots available on Event Banners. The current system, even with the addition of the Chronicled Banner, struggles to provide fair and timely reruns for all characters.

While the Chronicled Banner aimed to alleviate the issue, its effectiveness is debated, as evidenced by Shenhe's lengthy wait (over 600 days) for a rerun. Until the developers implement triple banners, extended wait times between character reruns are likely to persist.

Wriothesley's potential return in Version 5.4 is particularly noteworthy. His unique Cryo hypercarry capabilities and Burnmelt team compositions make him a desirable character, yet inaccessible since November 8, 2023. The recent Spiral Abyss buff further enhances his viability, lending some credibility to the rumor.

The source of this information, Flying Flame, has a mixed track record, particularly concerning Natlan-related leaks. While their prediction of a new Chronicled Banner in Version 5.3 proved accurate, other leaks have been inaccurate. Therefore, this news should be treated cautiously.

Version 5.4 is also anticipated to introduce Mizuki, potentially Inazuma's first Standard Banner character. If the leak is true, and Mizuki and Wriothesley share the Event Banners, the remaining 5-Star slot is likely to feature either Furina or Venti, as they are the only Archons yet to receive sequential reruns. Version 5.4's launch is projected for February 12, 2025.
