Gameplay Trailer Showcases Boss Battles and 4-Player Co-op

The recently released trailer offers a thrilling glimpse into Ratatan's gameplay, featuring a dynamic battle against a colossal boss crab. Developed by Patapon creator Hiroyuki Kotani and featuring music by Kemmei Adachi, the game seamlessly blends rhythm-game mechanics with side-scrolling action. A key feature is its online co-op mode, allowing up to four players to engage in massive battles with over 100 characters.

Ratatan's successful Kickstarter campaign, exceeding its console launch stretch goal, guarantees its release on multiple platforms.

Closed Beta Commences February 27, 2025

Ratatan's closed beta test is scheduled to begin on February 27, 2025. Producer Kazuto Sakajiri shared exciting updates, including over 100,000 Steam wishlists and positive reception to the original soundtrack demo. While the game won't be featured in the upcoming Steam Next Fest, the team is prioritizing the beta and plans a more polished demo for the June Steam Next Fest.

The beta will initially cover Stage 1, with Stages 2 and 3 added during the month-long testing period. Distribution details for beta keys will be announced via Discord and X.

Ratatan is slated for release in 2025 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. A precise release date remains unannounced.
