Get ready for a blast from the past! Pokémon has revealed that classic Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) mechanics, "Trainer's Pokémon" and potentially Team Rocket cards, are making a comeback in 2025. This exciting news was unveiled at the 2024 Pokémon World Championships.

While no official release date has been set, a teaser trailer showcased beloved trainers like Marnie, Lillie, and N, alongside their signature Pokémon: Lillie’s Clefairy ex, Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex, N’s Zoroark ex, and N’s Reshiram. These cards, a staple of early TCG sets, featured unique artwork and abilities.

The trailer also teased the possible return of Team Rocket, featuring Mewtwo and the iconic Team Rocket symbol. This fuels speculation about a dedicated Team Rocket set, or even the return of Dark Pokémon, another popular mechanic from the game's early days. Rumors of a Japanese retailer listing and a trademark filing for "The Glory of Team Rocket" further support this anticipation.
