All Playable Races in Avowed

Avowed, the exciting new RPG from Obsidian Entertainment, expands upon the rich fantasy world of Eora, first introduced in the Pillars of Eternity series. While Eora boasts a diverse array of races, Avowed's character creator offers a more curated selection. Let's explore the playable races available at launch.

Humans (Folk)

Humans, or Folk as they're known in-game, are the most common race in Avowed and offer a broad range of customization options. As part of the larger Kith group (encompassing various sentient species), humans provide extensive presets, detailed sliders for skin tone, and a wide variety of hair textures and styles, ensuring players can create a truly personalized character.

Elves

Elves are another playable race in Avowed. Visually similar to humans, elves are distinguished by their slightly different facial structures and, of course, those characteristic long, pointed ears.

Godlikes

While all Envoys in the game's narrative are Godlikes, players have the option to customize their character's appearance to reflect or subtly hint at these divine features. Godlike options include a selection of unique hairstyles and facial features, ranging from subtle to strikingly surreal. At launch, Avowed offers 14 Godlike facial features and four unique hairstyles, available to all characters regardless of race or body type.

Character Customization: Gender and Body Type

Avowed provides four distinct body types: two masculine and two feminine. These options are available for both Humans and Elves. Players can also choose from two masculine and two feminine voice options, and select their character's pronouns (he/him, she/her, or they/them), further enhancing character personalization.

Unplayable Races

While Avowed showcases a vibrant world populated by various Kith races, including Dwarves, the semi-aquatic Aumaua, and the diminutive Orlans, these races are currently not playable. However, future updates or DLC may expand the character creator to include these options.
