Pedro Pascal, renowned for his roles in acclaimed series like The Last of Us, The Mandalorian, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, has publicly criticized JK Rowling due to her recent statements against the transgender community.
The actor's comments came in response to a video posted by writer and activist Tariq Raouf on April 17, which criticized Rowling's endorsement of the UK Supreme Court's decision to define "woman" legally as "a biological woman and biological sex" for the purposes of equality legislation. This ruling effectively excludes transgender women from protections under the Equality Act.
Following the court's decision, Rowling shared a celebratory image on Twitter/X, depicting herself smoking a cigar and enjoying a drink by the ocean, captioned with, "I love it when a plan comes together." This was a reference to her financial support of For Scotland Women, the organization behind the lawsuit.

In the video, Raouf described Rowling's actions as "serious Voldemort villain sht" and encouraged viewers to boycott Harry Potter and related products. Pascal echoed these sentiments in his reply, stating, "Awful disgusting SHT is exactly right. Heinous LOSER behavior."
Pascal's advocacy for the transgender community is well-documented. He has previously condemned transphobia, sharing sentiments such as, "I can’t think of anything more vile and small and pathetic than terrorizing the smallest, most vulnerable community of people who want nothing from you, except the right to exist," accompanied by an image of a sign proclaiming, "A world without trans people has never existed and never will." At the premiere of Thunderbolts in London, he wore a shirt stating "Protect the dolls," a term of endearment for trans women within the LGBTQIA+ community.
His support extends personally to his sister, Lux Pascal, a trans woman who came out in 2021. Pedro Pascal publicly celebrated her transition, posting, "Mi hermana, mi corazón, nuestra Lux," translating to "My sister, my heart, our Lux."
