Stellar Blade's April release saw impressive sales and critical acclaim, even topping US sales charts in its launch month, outperforming titles like Helldivers 2 and Dragon's Dogma 2. The game boasts an 82 average OpenCritic rating from 124 reviews.
According to GameMeca (via VGC), Shift Up's CEO, Kim Hyung-Tae, and CFO, Jae-woo Ahn, both alluded to a PC port during an IPO press conference. While a concrete timeline remains unavailable due to contractual obligations, Ahn noted the growing PC market share for AAA titles, suggesting a PC port could significantly boost the IP's value.
A PC Port Seems Likely
Shift Up's previous financial report indicated exploration of both a sequel and a PC port for Stellar Blade, fueled by its success. The recent comments reinforce this interest. Given Sony's growing trend of bringing PlayStation exclusives to PC (with God of War: Ragnarok being the latest example), a Stellar Blade PC port seems increasingly probable.
Meanwhile, Shift Up continues PS5 optimization efforts. A recent update unfortunately introduced graphical glitches, but the developer has acknowledged these issues and promised a fix.
