Nintendo has announced an exciting Nintendo Direct event dedicated to the Nintendo Switch, scheduled for tomorrow, March 27th, at 7 a.m. PT. This livestreamed presentation will run for approximately 30 minutes and focus on upcoming games for the beloved console. Fans should note that this Direct will not include any updates on the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2, which will be discussed in a separate event on April 2 at 6 a.m. PT.
Given the Nintendo Switch's phenomenal sales record of 150.86 million units, there remains a significant audience eagerly awaiting new content. Despite the looming release of the Switch 2, Nintendo continues to support its current platform with a robust lineup of games. Titles like Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Professor Layton and the New World of Steam are slated for release on the Switch in 2025. Additionally, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is set to arrive sometime this year. The long-awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong, initially announced for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Nintendo Switch, is also expected to be compatible with both the original Switch and its successor, thanks to the Switch 2's backward compatibility.
This week's Nintendo Direct could serve as a grand finale for the Switch, which debuted eight years ago, by unveiling the final lineup of exclusive titles before Nintendo shifts its focus to the Switch 2. However, Nintendo might still have some surprises in store for fans, making this an event not to be missed.
