Netflix ventures into the MMO landscape with Spirit Crossing, a cozy life simulation crafted by Spry Fox and unveiled at GDC 2025. Fans of Spry Fox's previous titles like Cozy Grove and Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit will recognize its warm pastel art style, tranquil soundtrack, and emphasis on community over rivalry.
Here’s What We Know About Netflix Spirit Crossing
Players will be able to discover a vast world, construct and personalize homes, and cultivate a flourishing village alongside others. Activities include gathering materials, riding charming fluffy creatures, joining dance celebrations, and simply relaxing with companions.
Visually, Spirit Crossing draws from Studio Ghibli aesthetics, French comic art, and touches of contemporary styles like Corporate Memphis. The aim is to create an enduring and welcoming environment where players may feel at home for the long term.
A distinctive in-game calendar system influences how the world develops. Planted trees won't mature overnight—they require three to six real-world months to become a productive orchard ready for harvest. This reflects the gradual, patient gameplay Spry Fox previously explored in Cozy Grove.
Fostering genuine relationships remains central to the experience, a principle that has guided Spry Fox’s design approach for years. Studio co-founder David Edery expressed his vision for Spirit Crossing as a place where acquaintances can become close friends.
Netflix has released an enchanting trailer for Spirit Crossing that captures its delightful appeal. Have you seen it yet?
