Monster Hunter Wilds has achieved a remarkable milestone by selling over eight million units within just three days of its release, making it the fastest-selling game in Capcom's history. This impressive performance significantly exceeds the launch sales of its predecessors, with Monster Hunter World shipping five million copies in 2018 and Monster Hunter Rise shipping four million in 2021.

The success of Monster Hunter Wilds is not surprising, as it quickly surpassed one million concurrent players on Steam during its opening weekend. This surge in popularity helped Wilds overtake Cyberpunk 2077, securing its position as the 7th most-played game ever on the platform. Additionally, the game's launch contributed to Steam reaching over 40 million concurrent players for the first time.
