When discussing iconic female characters in fighting games, three names often come to mind: Nina Williams, Chun-Li, and Mai Shiranui. While fans have seen Nina and Chun-Li clash in Street Fighter x Tekken, their interactions won't continue in the immediate future. However, the spotlight is now on Mai Shiranui, who is set to join Street Fighter 6 as a guest character. It's intriguing that the developers chose to pit Mai against the legendary Chun-Li in her gameplay trailer, suggesting a deliberate and exciting matchup.
Mai's trailer showcases several of her signature moves, and her super move looks particularly stunning. It's clear that she's poised to become a fan favorite in Street Fighter 6. Unfortunately, fans will need to wait a bit longer to play as Mai, as Capcom has announced her release date for February 5, rather than the hoped-for January launch.
This means we're looking at a wait of three more weeks. In the meantime, let's hope the Street Fighter 6 team keeps the excitement alive with additional content to keep us engaged and entertained.
