There Will Be "Sort Of" A Sex Feature

As inZOI prepares for its early access release, fans are eager to understand the game's features, particularly those concerning sex and nudity. During an "Ask Me (almost) Anything" live session on the official Discord channel, three team leads provided insights, with responses translated by inZOI Assistant Director Joel Lee.

The discussion covered various aspects of the game's realism, including baby care, body size, and driving. Yet, the focus remained on explicit content, especially sex and nudity.

Lee aimed to keep the response safe-for-work, stating, "Our answer is: sort of. There is a feature in the game where you obviously know what's happening; the male Zoi and the female Zoi are together, likely in bed, with the intention of creating babies. How visually apparent is that? That's where you have to use your imagination. What you're seeing is not what you're seeing; you have to assume that's what's happening. Is that clear enough for everyone? It's there. Sort of. Maybe not to the level that everyone would have been expecting."

This statement leaves some ambiguity, but it confirms that sex will be a feature in the game, though the animations will be toned down to suit a broader audience. Given inZOI's focus on realism, fans might anticipate a more mature approach compared to the more whimsical style of The Sims.

Blurring Effects Don’t Work Well With inZOI

Players questioned why Zois shower with their towel on, which relates to the game's art style and the ineffectiveness of blurring effects. The developers explained that pixelated blurring works well for cartoony games like The Sims but feels overly suggestive in inZOI's more realistic art style.

Additionally, during testing, a bug caused Zois to appear fully naked in mirrors without visual effects, which the developers have since addressed.

Making inZOI Available to All

Despite the discussions around sex and nudity, inZOI has been rated T for Teen by the ESRB, akin to The Sims 4. This rating ensures the game remains accessible to a wide audience while maintaining a safe-for-work environment. Lee emphasized the team's goal to cater to as many age groups as possible, stating, "We wanted to provide a game that was widely available to as many age groups as possible."

The developers have scheduled a live stream showcase on March 19, 2025, at 01:00 UTC on inZOI's official YouTube and Twitch channels. This event will cover early access pricing, DLC details, the game's developmental roadmap, and further answers to fan queries.
